Welcome to Ultimate Longevity Bible — a research-grounded encyclopedia of longevity science. This page is a 5-minute orientation: how the site is structured, what to read first, and how to use it as a reference rather than a recipe book.
How the site is organised
Content sits in 18 categories. Most cross-link to each other extensively; you can usually start anywhere and follow related links to where you need to be.
- Foundations— start here if you’re new:
- Hallmarks of aging — the twelve biological processes underlying aging.
- Healthspan vs lifespan — why "living longer" isn’t the goal.
- Geroscience hypothesis — the field’s organising premise.
- Biological vs chronological age — what aging clocks measure.
- What you can do about it:
- Exercise — the single highest-leverage modifiable factor.
- Sleep — foundational.
- Mediterranean diet — the most-evidence-backed dietary pattern.
- Statins and apoB — modern lipidology.
- GLP-1 agonists — the most consequential new drug class.
- What to measure: walk through apoB, HbA1c, CAC score, VO2max, grip strength.
By age decade
- In your 30s— foundation building.
- In your 40s— the highest-leverage decade.
- In your 50s— act before midlife inflection points compound.
- In your 60s— preserve function and reserve.
- In your 70s and beyond— emphasis shifts to maintenance and avoiding falls.
By sex
- For women— cycle, perimenopause, menopause, hormone-therapy considerations.
- For men— lipids, testosterone, prostate, screening priorities.
How to read this site
Treat every page as a synthesis of current published evidence with its remaining uncertainty, not as a prescription. Specific drug and supplement recommendations require individual clinician input. Where we use evidence badges, "RCT" means strong randomised-trial support; "observational" means cohort data; "preclinical" means animal or in-vitro work only.
For deeper technical reading, every page links to primary references in the frontmatter (visible at the end of the body).
Useful indexes
- Full sitemap— every URL on the site.
- Glossary— A–Z list of all entries.
- /llms.txt and /llms-full.txt— LLM ingestion files.
- /ai.txt— explicit AI-crawler policy.
